IT WAS A DAY IN MAY

IT WAS A DAY IN MAY

They walked towards the sea slowly in time

A winding dirt road they left behind

Beneath the gray skies

She did begin to cry

She said... there is something to tell you

When we were married and you were the groom

This ring you placed on my finger

Please tell me that you remember

He remembered that special day

She said ...please hold me that way

They stopped walking short of the ocean

She then fell lifeless without motion

As he walked towards the sea

He cuddled her ever so closely

Knowing that she was in her night

And his lifted arms held her high

The pollution and smog had not lied

For a breath of air she died

Standing on the sea  shore he asked her there

Can you smell the fresh salty  air

Her face a pale blue

And lips covered with dew

He heard her say..this ring you placed on my finger

Please tell me you remember

Please hold me that way

Yes he remembered that special day

It was a day in May

He said..i will hold you that way

...and he held her that way
